North Shore Conservation Advocacy Office
The Endicott Wildlife Sanctuary is home for the North Shore Conservation Advocacy office, an environmental policy, research, and education program that works with interested citizens and municipal and regional officials to provide greater protection of the region's wildlife habitats.
North Shore Conservation Advocacy staff engage in a range of projects and initiatives designed to protect the North Shore. Some of the current projects include:
- Coordination of regional anadromous fish counts
- Development of the City of Gloucester, Comprehensive River and Stream Restoration Plan
- Creation of the Great Marsh Initiative, which focuses on anadromous fish, salt marsh restoration, land protection, and resource awareness
- Co-sponsor of the North Shore Open Space Committee Network
- Development of integrated, public school, salt marsh science curriculum· Founding member of the Green Neighborhoods Alliance, a diverse partnership designed to promote Open Space Residential Design across the state
