Summer Camp Moose Hill Nature Day Camp Upcoming Camp Programs Nature Day Camp is a welcoming environment with fewer than one hundred campers in each weekly session. Our goal is to educate children and enrich their lives through outdoor exploration, focused activities, games, hikes, and crafts. Most weeks include special visitors and camp-wide theme days.
The camp day runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with before and after camp programs available. The camp uses the Nature Center of Moose Hill Wildlife Sanctuary as its base. The sanctuary provides varied habitats to study and 20 miles of trails to explore.
Kay Andberg, our camp director, takes pride in offering a caring, organized, and educational program. Professional environmental educators supervise the summer staff. The majority of our camp instructors are college students majoring in education or the sciences. They attend one to two weeks of training in safety, child development, and natural history. The few junior staff that are hired are selected for their maturity and are teamed with older instructors.
The safety of the children in our care is very important to us. In addition to being licensed by the Sharon Board of Health, we are accredited by the American Camping Association. Staff certified in first aid and CPR oversee all. *Requires a PDF reader. Download Adobe Reader.
