A History of Drumlin Farm Wildlife Sanctuary Now Available
 Drumlin Farm announces the arrival of A History of Drumlin Farm Wildlife Sanctuary, a 32-page well-researched account of the sanctuary’s past, complete with a bounty of historical photographs of the site.
As part of Drumlin Farm's 50th anniversary celebration in 2005, the narrative takes the reader through the history of local agriculture and describes Drumlin Farm's transition from farmers to estate owners to Mass Audubon. Readers will be curious to see how Drumlin Farm evolved from Mass Audubon's primary research station (there was a plan to study the courtship displays of captive sea ducks!) to the important institution for environmental education that it is today.
It also explains how farming returned to Drumlin Farm when Mass Audubon acquired the initial gift of 152 acres and then added more fields from the generous Boyce family, who had an interest in keeping the land in agriculture.
Rob Todd, Drumlin Farm advisory committee member and descendant of the family that once lived on the property, fueled the project with his extensive collection of images and stories from the site's past. Molly Hawkins, volunteer coordinator at Drumlin Farm, co-authors the narrative with Rob Todd.
