We're Back! With Great Weather and Great Campers!
Well, we are finally back online! I think the fun waves reverberating from camp threw off the satellite we use for internet (or something).
Anyway, we have been having a terrific session, and I hope a few of you have received letters to prove it. The weekend overnights all went very well, although the group climbing Mt Monadnock had to turn around and descend just before reaching the top because of an approaching thunderstorm. Still, they all had a really great time.
There have been a bunch of neat nature sightings this session. Birds are on the move and we've seen turkey vultures, broad-winged hawks, and even a shorebird (yellow-legs). Lots of different butterflies, dragonflies flitting about as well, and a smooth green snake was seen today too - a first for Wildwood!
I can't believe we are just a couple days away from the end of the session. However, it's been getting much darker earlier, and the mornings are cooler too, so we are certainly reaching that time of the summer. Like many of the other sessions this summer, this group has really come together nicely and has enjoyed singing in the dining hall, playing all camp evening games, and just living and learning together as a wonderful community. It is such a pleasure for all the staff to teach to and learn from such great campers.
We all hope you have been enjoying your two weeks as well, especially for the past several days which have been absolutely beautiful weather-wise. Let's hope you have some great stories to rival some of the stories you will be hearing from your camper(s)!
Tomorrow is our last full day, and it will certainly be a good one, with the final, closing campfire of the summer sessions. I know it will be amazing! Enjoy your last day of vacation too, and we will look forward to seeing you all on Saturday morning! Here's a few pictures from the past few days here at camp.
See you soon!
